Upon the invitation of the President of the Italian Red Cross, from 22 to 25 June 2017. Mr. Rajko Lazić, the President of the Red Cross Society of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the coordinator for international cooperation and Assistant Secretary General Ms. Žaklina Ninković, participated in the event of marking the anniversary of the Battle of Solferino ("Fiaccolata"), which took place in Solferino, Italy.
Participants of this significant event for the Movement of RC/RC were representatives of staff, volunteers and members from 37 (thirty-seven) national Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies from all continents, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) (Secretary-General and representative s of Geneva Secretariat) , the International Committee of the Red Cross (President and members of the Geneva Board of Directors), the Chair of IFRC Youth Commission and Facilitators of the Academy in Solferino were representatives of the Global Foresight Group from the United States and a representative of IFRC from Geneva. On that occasion, the delegation of national societies visited the International Red Cross Museum in Castiglione delle Stiviere, not far from Solferino.
Bilateral meetings of RCSBIH representatives were held with the President of the Spanish Red Cross, the President of the Italian Red Cross, the Vice President of the Red Cross of Venezuela, and numerous meetings were held with representatives of the national societies of Croatia, Montenegro, Senegal, Antigua and Barbuda, Austria, Ivory Coast, , Hungary, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Monaco and other countries.
Participants of this year's "Fiaccolata" were also 48 young people from the Red Cross of the Republic of Srpska with their teachers, For them, this event was a great experience because they were in a cradle, a birthplace of the Red Cross.
