On 30.11.2018. on the occasion of the handover of an extremely valuable donation from the Turkish Red Crescent Society (TRC), a ceremony was held in the headquarters of the Red Cross Society of Bosnia and Herzegovina (RCSBIH) in Sarajevo, attended by:

Donation in the amount of 156,331.86 EUR (305,758.54 KM) is the result of many years of cooperation between the two sister national societies , RCSBIH and TRC , which was crowned by signing the Memorandum of Understanding in 2017 in Ankara, the Republic of Turkey, and also a result of a quick response of Turkish friends to provide assistance to 3,400 refugees / migrants (2,200 persons in the Una-Sana Canton and 600 persons in Mostar and Sarajevo).
On this occasion, RCSBIH representatives thanked to H.E. Haldun Koc, and People of Turkey on behalf of the Ministry for Human rights and refugees and the Minister, Mrs. Semiha Borovac. They also expressed deep gratitude to TRC and People of Turkey and commended their sensitivity, generosity and readiness to help in mitigating migrant crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina. On this occasion, RCSBIH management commended great efforts of migration affected RCSBIH branches and acknowledged their work in providing all sorts of assistance to more than 2,500 refugees / migrants in Bihać, Velika Kladuša in Una-Sana Canton, Mostar. The donation (large small tents, blankets, mobile kitchens, kitchen sets) will be distributed to Red Cross branches that care about people in need, but which will also strengthen the capacities of RCSBIH to respond to future natural disasters and other emergencies.
